About us

The project was launched in the spring of 2010, but the idea started growing several years ago when we launched a webshop in Sweden and Norway. It was easy to launch the shop, but it took a while before we realized that both the cultural and practical differences were very difficult to understand and handle from Denmark.

MakesYouLocal.dk is the company we would have loved to work with back then.

The founders are Ingrid Riis Karlsen and Max Riis Christensen. We have both worked with e-commerce for several years and have hands-on experience with all the aspects of e-commerce.

Ingrid has been responsible for a fashion webshop, and before that, she had several years of experience in communications and customer service.

Max has served as managing director for two of the frontrunners in Danish e-commerce, as external consultant on several international e-commerce projects, and he is also a member of the board of FDIH, the Danish trade organisation for e-commerce.
